Hammie didn't make it easy for Lina. Serious contractions started at 2100 on the 24th and Hammie fought tooth and nail until she was literally pulled out nearly 22.5 hours later at 1921 on the 25th. (seriously though, the nurse attached a thing to what little was exposed of Hammie's head and yanked while Lina pushed like there was no tomorrow) Hammie came out a looking like a human blueberry or one of those lovable Smurfs as she was blue from head to toe. Once we got some oxygen into Hammie she took on a more human complexion and at 52 cm tall and a scale tipping 3.88 kg she became the cutest baby every (I'm a bit biased of course). As you can probably tell we haven't settled on a name so it's Hammie for now. We've decided to try out a few of the names in our arsenal over the next few days and we'll let you know which one she likes best.

Hammie has yet to make an appearance. The disobedient child refuses to come out despite our requests. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come. He/she is a week overdue and we bide our time as best we can, visiting friends, exploring for boulders, and a lot of chilling.
In the meantime, the Organic pads have arrived and I'll try to post prices and info in a day or two (unless the kid comes).
Also, a dear friend of mine, Jenny Smith, is hoping to broaden her horizons by continuing her education in the land of the free. Unfortunately the "superior" education found in the usa requires a considerable chunk of change (Just like our health care. Greatest system in the world. Fact!) so she is hoping to raise money in a very American way.....a contest. Jenny had to make a short video about the benefits of drinking tea and I figured I'd help her out and post it here as I think that both tea and education are good things.
The list of problems I'd still like to do is constantly growing and with the summer heat keeping the friction to a minimum it seems I'll have to wait until it cools down. Summer is usually the time for exploring and getting mileage but this summer is a bit different as the ultimate project of having a kid has consumed much of my time and energy. The arrival of Hammerstryke will certainly curtail climbing time for a bit but some things are more important.
Hopefully Hammie will be here any day as we are quickly approaching the somewhat arbitrary due date of July 17th. While we wait, here's a few of the problems I'll be dreaming about in between changing diapers and cleaning up baby vomit.
I've been a bit busy lately as having a baby apparently requires the acquisition of quite a lot of crap. We've been arranging the apartment and taking care of some things we should have done long ago and if little Hammerstryke decides to come today we are ready, or as ready as you can be. Now it's just a matter of waiting.
Speaking of waiting, I've been given the arrival date of July 17th for the Organic pads so hopefully they'll be here in a week and I'll have all the details about pricing and whatnot. Just waiting.
